Boda Boda riders in Kazo District particularly those at Hospital Stage are mourning the sudden death of their fellow rider, Kiiza Justus aged 24 who has been working in the boda boda industry for at least four years.

According to Musiime Geoffrey who is the stage speaker, Kiiza tragically lost his life on Sunday, September 22, 2024 while collecting firewood. It is reported that he climbed a tall tree bearing a dried branch in an attempt to retrieve it unfortunately, he fell from the tree around 1 PM and remained alone until approximately 4 PM, when passers-by discovered him in a critical condition.

He died shortly after arriving at a clinic in Kazo Town Council. Ahimbisibwe Saul Tinka, the General Secretary of the stage, eulogized Kiiza describing him as a person of good moral values during the one year they spent together at this stage. Kiiza initially operated from the Rwamuranga Boda Boda stage in Kazo Subcounty before joining the team in Kazo Town Council.

Ahimbisibwe has urged all members and district leaders to come together to organize a dignified send-off for the deceased. Kiiza was a resident of Ruziinga Village, Rwempiri Ward in Kazo Town Council, Kazo District and he will be buried at his father's home in Kinyamugara, Kitagwenda District, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. The deceased is survived by one child and a pregnant wife.
