Police in Sheema District have discovered a decomposing body of Ronnie Twikirize, who went missing on November 13, 2024.
The disappearance of Twikirize was reported the following day on November 14, by Johnson Nabaasa, a 27-year-old resident of Katete Cell, Kyagaju Ward in Kabwohe Division, Sheema Municipality.
On November 17, 2024, Lawrence Kato, a herdsman at Joy Katikuzi's farm, was grazing cows when he noticed the decomposing body floating in a pond located in Kabaale Cell, Kabwohe Division.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson confirmed the incident stating that the farm is approximately 3 kilometers from the home of the deceased. The body had already begun to decompose, indicating that he may have died on the day of his disappearance.
Tumusiime noted that the body showed no visible signs of physical injury, the neck appeared intact, suggesting he may have been thrown into the pond while still alive. The body has been taken to Kabwohe Health Center IV for a postmortem examination and investigations are ongoing.
