Tamale Mirundi dies at 60
Former Presidential
Press Secretary, Tamale Mirundi has died at 60. Joseph
Tamale Mirundi was the Senior Presidential Advisor on
media matters and he died on Tuesday, August 18th at Kisubi hospital where he was
admitted over lung complications. He was born in 1964
in Kalisizo, Rakai District.
The
late Mirundi served as the spokesperson
of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for 13 years
until in 2015 when he appointed as presidential
advisor. Away from working as President Museveni’s advisor, Mirundi was
also appointed as the spokesperson of Patriotic League of Uganda
in Buganda region, a group headed by
Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who is the Chief
of Défense Forces.

Secretary to President Museveni, Faruk Kirunda has released the
program that shall be followed for the burial of late
Tamale Mirundi. According to the funnel burial program, today there will
be vigil and Mass at Mirundi’s residence in Zana, on
15th Aug there will be a Requiem Mass at
St. Gyaviira Catholic Church Bunamwaya.
From there, the body of the deceased will be taken
to Zana Residence for Overnight Vigil then on
Friday 16th August, the body will be taken
to Kyengera Residence for Mass, on Saturday 17th Aug, the
body will be taken to Kalagala Village in Kaliisizo, Rakai
District for Vigil and he will be buried on Sunday 18th Aug in
the same village, Kalagala in Rakai District.
