Two people have lost their lives in an accident that happened along Mbarara Masaka Highway in Sanga Town Council in Kiruhura district. The accident that happened today involved two motor vehicles a Fuso Milk Tanker Reg NO UBB 905J from Masaka side and a Fuso Truck carrying matooke Reg NO UBG 727P from Mbarara side.

SP Samson Kasasira, the Rwzi Region Police Spokesperson confirmed this incident noting that the two motor vehicles had a head on collision claiming two lives.  The deceased are Mugabe Eric,48, a resident of Kyazanga in Lwengo district and Gumisirizi Abubakari a resident of Isingiro district who died on the spot and injured the driver of the milk tanker.

According to Kasasira, the driver of the milk tanker was taken to medical facility in Mbarara City for treatment while the bodies of the deceased were also taken to Kyazanga and Isingiro by their relatives. Preliminary investigations indicate that the cause of the accident was reckless driving by both drivers.
