A 40-year-old man in Kazo District has reportedly committed suicide by ingesting poison. The deceased, Mwebesa Laban, was a resident of Rushango Cell in Ntambazi Parish, Kazo Sub County and he died on September 2 after taking poison.

Mwebesa, a father of three had recently divorced his two wives and had been living with his grandparents in the same village. According to his grandfather, Yusufu Kahotore, no specific reasons for his suicide have been identified.

Mugisha Benard, the Vice Chairman of Rushango Cell, along with local residents, noted that Mwebesa was known for his heavy alcohol consumption, but they remain puzzled about the reasons behind his decision to take his own life however, unidentified reports indicate he has been requesting his grandparents (parents to his parents) to give him land but they ignored. As of now, the police have not provided any comments regarding the incident.
