As Uganda approaches the 2025 primaries and the 2026 general elections, National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders in Kiruhura District are calling for unity, discouraging enmity and political divisiveness during the electoral process.
Rutangana Rauben, the NRM Vice Chairperson for Kiruhura district, emphasized that political leaders should ensure that their campaign activities including expressing their political stances and canvassing for votes, do not create divisions among the people.
He urged aspiring candidates to communicate their political ideas in a manner that fosters peace and understanding, rather than inciting hatred.
Mushabe Stephen, NRM Chairperson for Kenshunga Sub County echoed this sentiment, stating that reaching a consensus on election results is essential to minimizing conflict and promoting harmony within the community.
