One person has been arrested in Bushenyi on allegations of soliciting money as bribes from the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds beneficiaries.

Muhammad Congo, a resident of Rubare cell in Kyamuhunga Town Council in Bushenyi district was arrested by officials from the Office of Resident District Commissioner (RDC).

According to a statement from the RDC’s office, the RDC’s team moved into action after getting a tip of information from the District Internal Security Office (DISO) that the suspect has been soliciting money from people promising to them to give them money of PDM.  

Some of the victims who were approached by Muhammad Congo have been asked to make statements at Butare police post for police to be able to compile Muhammad’s file. Bushenyi Deputy RDC Katsigazi Donanto instructed police to make more investigations as far as PDM funds are being used in the district.
