Police in Kazo district are investigating the cause of a fatal accident that happened along Kazo - Rushere road in Kazo district. 

The accident involved a motor vehicle H4DF 2475 Isuzu lorry that was carrying 52 mourners from Nakaseke district who were heading to Ibanda district for burial claiming one life of Kwagala Emily 5 years old.

It's alleged that the motor vehicle with two UPDF Officers on board and 50 civilian mourners who were coming from Nakaseke district heading to Ibanda district for burial, reached Gaburungi cell along Kazo Rushere Road and the vehicle developed a mechanical problem failing to negotiate the corner.

According to Rwizi Region Police Spokesperson Samson Kasasira, the vehicle went off the road ramming into the trench and over turned leaving one person dead, 6 with serious injuries and 30 with minor injuries. The victims were taken to Kazo Health Centre IV and Ibanda for treatment while the body of the deceased was taken to Kazo Health centre IV for post-mortem as investigations continue.
