Police in Mubende district are investigating circumstances under which a church Minister murdered his biological 4-year-old son.

Pastor Alex Mugisha of Prophecy Pentecostal Church in Kanseera Cell, Mubende Municipality was arrested by Police yesterday July 23rd, on allegations of murdering his son Samuel Niyokusiima over unknown reasons. After his arrest, Mugisha asked Police to forgive him as he is suffering from mental illness and that he was not aware that he had killed his son.

According to reports, the suspect was caught by his wife Mediya Mukanohere who said she was from the gardern and found his husband (suspect) trying to escape and when she entred the house, she was shocked to find the body of the child in a pool of blood.

Wamala Region Police spokesperson, Rachel Kawala said Mukanohere had to inform neighbours who immediately called police who arrested Mugisha and currently he is detained at Mubende Central Police Station as inquiries into the matter continue.
