Ugandans urged to participate in government programs
Ugandans have been urged to actively participate in government programs aimed at eradicating poverty. This call was made by Burunga LC3 Chairman Samuel Rumaari while discussing New Year’s resolutions with journalists.
Rumaari, who is also campaigning for the Kazo District LCV chairman seat in the upcoming general elections, encouraged citizens to engage with initiatives like the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds and Emyooga funds.
He emphasized the need to change the mindset that the government will handle all poverty alleviation efforts warning that the government cannot force people who are unwilling to take action.
Regarding President Yoweri Museveni's directive for police to discontinue granting bail to suspected thieves to enhance security investigations, Rumaari stated that this could be effectively implemented in Kazo if corruption is addressed. He noted that the practice of releasing suspected thieves on bail has hindered efforts to combat theft in the district.
