Police in Ibanda district are investigating circumstances under which a secondary school teacher committed suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Mwalimu Emmanuel Turyahebwa, a reisent of  Mugarama 2 Cell, Katembe Parish in Rukiri Sub-County, Ibanda district. According to reports, the deceased who was teaching Kiswahili subject at Oxford Secondary School in Ibanda , committed suicide by hanging himself on the school premises on Tuesday, December 24.

Reports indicate that Turyahebwa might have committed suicide due to delay in paying his salary by the school authorities.

By Press time, Police were informed, visited the scene and transported the body has been transported to Ruhoko Health IV for postmortem as investigations into the matter continue.
