Police in Greater Bushenyi Regon are hunting for 8 suspects who escaped from prison at Sheema Police Station last night. The suspects escaped from prison cells last night (July  31st) at around 3:20am according to police.

Martial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Region Police Spokesperson has confirmed this incident identifying the suspects as Akampa Jocknions (accused of Murder charges),Matovu Hakimu (theft charges), Musika Aggrey (Criminal Trespass), Byamukama Ambrose (Burglary and theft), Asingwire Musinguzi (on theft), Mpumwire Benson (on Theft), Tugume Ashraf (on theft of Motor Vehicle) and Accum Clinton (on Aggravated Robbery).

Tumusiime says police have already arrested the officers who were on duty over charges of neglect of duty and hunting of escapees is ongoing.
