Police hunts for boda boda killers in Rukungiri
Police in Rukungiri district are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 30-year-old boda boda rider.
The deceased has been identified as Elias Bakamuzara, a resident of Rutooma Ruganda, Rwamujura, Mayanga Sub-County in Mitooma district. According to preliminary investigations, Ambrose Twemurikye, a 25-year-old saloon attendant at Rwamuzura in Mitooma district, asked Bakamuzara to take him to Rukungiri town for shopping. While in Rukungiri town, Bakamuzara informed Twemurikye that he was going to check on his girlfriend but did not disclose her name or location.
Twemurikye said he later called Bakamuzara to take him since shopping was done but the deceased did not pick his calls prompting him to hire another motorcycle rider and returned him to Mitooma. Upon arrival in Mitooma, he informed residents about the disappearance of Bakamuzara, they informed police and searching commenced.
The motorcycle was recovered on October, 18, 2023 by Rukungiri Police from a resident Kyarikunda Justina who claimed that it was brought home by her grandson, Kwikiriza Benson in the company of another person not known to her and it was handed to officer at CPS Rukungiri Centrl Police Station. Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson says on October, 23, 2023 at Kaitumura cell in Rukungiri District, the boday of Bakamuzare was found dumped in a resident's garden.
