Uganda Commences Population Census exercise
Kazo and Bushenyi districts' enumerators are facing challenges while carrying out national housing and population census.
Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has today commenced the process of the 2024 Housing and Population Census exercise, which will run for 10 days, ending May, 19th, 2024. According to the UBOS Executive Director Chris Mukiza the census, running from today 10th to 19th May, is intended to gather Uganda's social and demographic data for proper government planning.
Enumerators carrying out this process countrywide are facing different challenges including language barrier, faulty machines among others. In Kazo district as well as Bushenyi district, enumerators are facing challenges including faulty tablets which they are supposed to use in collecting data from residents, being few yet they have to visit many villages.
