School Heads in Mitooma district are worried about the increased conflicts between school administrators and school committees in many schools and they now call for immediate intervention from relevant authorities.
Speaking to KC News reporter, Jonas Babimpa, the Chairperson of Mitooma Headteachers Association said that most of school heads try to exercise their duties as stipulated in guidelines but they face challenges with the management and PTA committees who are always after their self interests.
Speaking about the same issue, Aggrey Barekye, the Mitooma District secretary for social services attributed this to lack of training for school committees members hence a need to advocate for their training to resolve the issue of conflicting with school heads.
Sharifah Nakintu, the Mitooma district Chief Administrative officer noted that this habit of disrespecting school heads has been cited in the recent incident that happened in Rurehe School where the chairperson of the school management allegedly slapped a head teacher. He noted that investigations have commenced to identify school committee members who attack school heads.
