Patients demonstrate over poor services at Rugazi Health Centre IV
Health workers at Rugazi Health Centre IV accused of neglecting patients
Patients at Rugazi Health Centre IV in Rubirizi District yesterday demonstrated over poor service delivery of health workers at this hospital.
The patients accuse health workers for failure to handle women in time the issue they attribute to increased maternal deaths in the district.
Rugazi Health Centre IV is the biggest health facility in the district and it receives over 300 patients on average per day seeking for health services. Tibanyendera Jolly, told KC Updates that health workers have on several occasions tasked them to buy drugs from nearby clinics before their patients are treated. She wondered why health services from a government hospital are paid for yet the government services are free.
Another patient Namara Stella said that nurses spend most of their time on smartphones and fail to attend to them in time resulting to complications especially to women in labour.
Dr. Diana Nankinga, the Rugazi Health Centre IV in charge declined to comment on this matter.
