Security tightened as suspected ADF kill 10 in Kamwenge
10 people have been killed by Suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) militants in Kamwenge district.
Sources indicate that the suspected ADF militants attacked people in a bar located in Kitehurizi trading centre in Kyabandara village, Kyabandara parish in Kamwenge sub county in the wee hours of Tuesday. Among the 10 people killed is a female councillor for Kyabandara Parish only identified as Night.
Confirming these reports, UPDF Deputy Spokesperson, Col. Deo Akiiki noted that security has been tightened within Kamwenge district to carry out investigations and search for the suspected ADF rebels.
Last week, the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) killed two suspected ADF rebels and captured their commander within the Kibale Forest National Park, in Kamwenge district. According to UPDF Spokesperson Gen Felix Kulayigye, these rebels were among escapees from Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who escaped following UPDF Shuja operations.
