Embark on income generating activities- Bushenyi RDC challeges youth
Bushenyi Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Robert Atuhairwe has embarked on rallying youths who graduated under presidential Skilling to join Emyooga so that they embark on income-generating activities. The presidential initiative on the skilling the girl/boy child project ensures that people acquire skilling courses like hairdressing, embroidery, tailoring, knitting, weaving, shoe making, bakery, confectionery among other courses.
Speaking to these youths yesterday evening at the district council hall, Atuhairwe noted that people trained under the presidential Skilling program need to be followed up to ensure that skills acquired are put into use as away of curbing unemployment among youth. He urged those who were trained under presidential Skilling program should be registered under Emyooga SACCO groups, engage in savings to improve their earnings.
Pius Asiimwe and Melody Atukwatse, some of the beneficiaries who graduated in carpentry and tailoring respectively testified that the skills acquired during the training helped them in improving their earnings since they started themselves businesses.
