Murder suspect escapes from court

Murder suspect threatens to kill whoever follows up the case

Residents of Rushere town council, Kiruhura district are in fear for their lives after a court escapee threatened to harm whoever follows up his murder case.

Johnson Mugisha 40, a resident of Kitabo cell, Kashongi sub county, Kiruhura, escaped from Kiruhura Grade I Magistrate’s court on July 7, 2023, where he was taken for trial for allegedly killing his wife Clemencia Patience, 20 last month accusing her of infidelity.

Kiruhura district crime preventers’ coordinator, Apollo Tushemereirwe says the incident of Suspect Mugisha escaping from prison indicates that police is not doing it's role.

Kiruhura District Police Commander, ASP Namanya Nicholas confirmed the reports of Mugisha escaping from prison and notes that search for him has commenced.
