Woman arrested over feeding baby with human faeces
A 34-year-old
woman has been arrested in Masaka on allegations of feeding a baby
with human faeces and urinating on her
body. The suspect, Stella Namwanje, a resident
of Binyonyi A village in Nyendo Mukungwe Sub-County, Masaka City
is accused of feeding a 10 months old baby with faeces and also forcing
the child to drink her urine.
Namwanje who is currently in
custody at Masaka Central Police Station was seen in a
video circulating on social media while she was committing the said crimes.
According to her, her actions were not intended to cause harm and
maintains she has a good relationship with the mother of the child.
The suspect told police that
she recorded the video on her phone but does not know how it ended up on
social media. The child's mother, Olivia Mbabazi, noted
that Namwenje was always with her child and never imagined that she
could do such actions on her child.
Twaha Kasirye, the Greater Masaka Regional Police
Spokesperson confirms the arrest of the suspect indicating
that investigations are underway to determine the motivations
behind Namwanje's actions.
