Police in Isingiro District are investigating circumstances under which unknown people allegedly murdered an 80 year old woman. 

The deceased has been identified as Joy Kitarinyeba, a resident of Kasaana I Cell in Birere Sub County, Isingiro District whose body was found lying in her house with the doors locked from outside.

The Rwizi Regional Police Spokesperson, Samson Kasasira says preliminary findings indicate that the deceased was last seen on March 30th, 2024 with Richard Bamwine, 42, (a friend to deceased) the two were seen at her (deceased) home. At the time when the body of the deceased was found in the house, Bamwine was nowhere to be seen and claimed that he had left her well as he went for Easter holidays.

The body of the deceased was discovered with scratch marks on the neck and other parts and Kasasira revealed that two suspects including Ephranse Nuwabeine a daughter to the deceased and Bamwine Richard the man friend have been apprehended to help with the investigations.
