FDC replaces Ssemujju with Nsibambi as party chief whip
The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has withdrawn Kira Municipality MP, Semujju Nganda from the position of chief whip. He has been replaced by Mawokota South MP, Hon. Yusuf Nsibambi.
According to the letter from FDC Party Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi dated 7th, August, 2023 addressed to Speaker of Parliament, the party has withdrawn Hon Ssemujju from the position of Chief Whip replaced by Hon Nsibambi with immediate effect.
The letter sacking Hon Ssemujju from the position of chief whip for FDC comes at time when FDC leaders are accusing one another of mismanaging the party. FDC Spokesperson Hon Ssemujju Nganda, Kampala Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago, Buhweju County MP Hon Mwijukye Francis have been accusing the FDC President Patrick Oboi Amuriat, the party secretary general Mafabi of receiving money from state house in away of wanting to sell the party to National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
FDC President Patrick Oboi Amuriat, the party secretary general Mafabi have also accused Hon Ssemujju and Kampala Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago of wanting to sell the party to National Unity Platform (NUP) party.
