Three people have died, two others seriously injured in an accident that happened at mile 2 along Mbarara -Masaka Highway. Today's morning accident involved a Toyota Prado TX registration number UAV 632T and other motorcycles one with a registration number UFW194M and another yet to be identified motorcycle.

Two of the deceased were passengers traveling on a motorcycle registration number UFW194M while the other was riding a motorcycle yet to be identified.  Rwizi Regional Police Spokesperson SP Samson Kasasira says preliminary findings indicate that motor vehicle registration number UAV632T that was heading to Mbarara from Masaka lost control and knocked a pedestrian and two other motorcycles.

Kasasira explained that the injured people were rushed to Mayanja Memorial Hospital whereas the deceased bodies were taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital pending postmortem.

He further said the wreckages of the vehicles involved in the crash were towed by police to Mbarara central police station pending inspection.
