Police in Mitooma District have initiated an investigation into the murder of a middle-aged man whose death occurred under mysterious circumstances. The incident took place on the night of December 7, 2024 in Nyamiyaga 1 village, Kirembe Parish, Katenga Sub-County.

Deus Tumwesigye, the 59-year-old area chairperson of Nyamiyaga village reported the case to the authorities stating that the deceased suffered multiple cut wounds to the head, face and left arm.

Marcial Tumusiime, the Spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi Police confirmed the incident, noting signs of a struggle at the crime scene.

However, no personal items or documents were recovered from the body. Tumusiime added that the victim's body was discovered without trousers or shoes and the body has been transported to Kitagata Hospital mortuary in Sheema District for a post-mortem examination.
