The casket carrying the body of former Dokolo Woman MP, the late Cecilia Ogwal is in parliament and a special sitting for legislators to pay tribute for the late is ongoing.

Speaker Anita Among received the body of the deceased MP on behalf of Parliament. Hon Ogwal at the age of 77, died on January 18th, 2024 in a hospital in India and she died of Cancer.

Speaker Among told MPs that the health status of Hon Ogwal deteriorated during the speakers' conference that was held at Speke Resort Munyonyo on 3rd-6th, January. She said she was informed about the situation and had to leave the conference on a short notice to prepare Ogwal to be flown in India for further treatment where she died from.

Among applauded President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for according late Hon Ogwal an official burial and she will be buried in Kole district on Saturday, January 27th, 2024.
