Police in Rukungiri district have arrested a 19 years old suspect for allegedly murdering a 28 years old man.

The suspect has been indentified as Naturinda Herbert who allegedly murdered Amon Twijukye both residents of Rumira cell in Bugangari Sub County in Rukungiri district.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Sub Region Police Spokesperson says on 15th August, 2023 at around 11PM while the two were at  Rumira Trading Center at a bar of a one Ninsiima Agatha alias Muteta, they asked her to open her bar and give them alcohol she refused noting she had closed closed her shop. 

Maate narrates that Naturinda and the deceased started quarrelling, he (Naturinda) who had a panga cut the Twijukye around the neck and he died on the way being  rushed to Nyakibale hospital.

Police at Bugangari was informed, visited the scene and arrested the suspect as inquiries into the matter are at hand.
