Police in Kabalagala have in custody two suspects on allegations of murdering an Eritrean national. The deceased is Hannibal Tewelde, 30, an Eritrean National, Refugee and resident of Lukuli zone in Makindye Division.

The suspects are Siem Fustem and Henok Foto both are Eritrean Nationals and residents of Lukuli zone in Makindye Division. According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango, it is alleged that in the night of 07/072024, the deceased and the suspects were at My Place Bar within AD plaza Apartment along Kibuli road, drinking alcohol.

The suspects and deceased started fighting each other over unknown reasons and he (Tewelde) was hit on the head using a bottle of beer. He was rushed to Nsambya Hospital for medical attention by the suspects and died upon their arrival.

Onyango says Police visited the scene, conveyed the body to Mulago city mortuary for post-mortem examination as investigations continue and suspects are currently detained at Kabalagala Police station.
