Police in Mbarara District have in custody two suspects who allegedly tortured and Attempted Murder of a 16 year old boy. 

The suspects are Kamuhanda Evans, aged 17 and Kamukama Apollo, aged 43, of Kaliba cell Bubaare sub-county in Mbarara and they are alleged to have tortured and buried alive Amanya Charles, a casual labourer in Mbarara and a resident of Kabujye cel in Sheema district. The incident happened on May, 28th at around 10am and the victim was accused by suspects of stealing their phones.

Fred Enanga, Police Spokesperson while addressing the media at Naguru headquarters in Kampala, he revealed that the suspects had to tie Amanya on a tree, where they tortured him and at night, they dug a shallow grace, dumped and buried him.  Enanga said the victim managed to crawl out of the shallow grave, to a nearby shack, where he spent two days till on May 30th, when he was discovered and taken to police  later transferred to Bubaare Health Centre for treatment.

The two suspects will be charged with torture, conspiracy and attempted murder.
