Police in Sheema district are hunting for a 40-year-old man over aggravated defilement and impregnated his biological daughter aged 16.

The suspect, Tumusiime Nelson, 40, a resident of Kagango cell, Kagango Division, Sheema municipality in Sheema District is said to have committed the offence during the month of August 2023 when he allegedly defiled his 16 year old biological daughter and primary school in P.3 class at Unique nursery and primary school. 

According to Greater Bushenyi Region Police Spokesperson, Martial Tumusiime, the  suspect and his wife separated many years ago and the victim had been staying with the mother until last year in September when the mother brought her to stay with her farther together with her siblings and the grandmother. It is said that the suspect started defiling the victim in the month of August this year from his bedroom and warned her never to tell anyone.

Tumusiime notes that the victim started feeling pain in her stomach which prompted her father to take her to Kabwohe health centre IV for treatment and on examining her, the doctor discovered that the victim was pregnant. The suspect allegedly ran away and abandoned the victim in the hospital, police was informed and recovered the victim who later informed police that her father was responsible for the pregnancy.
