Police at Kira Division has intensified its intelligence-led operations, targeting criminals in Kapela Kimbejja and Kyaliwajala areas. The Operations that were carried out in the night of 27th and 28th May 2024, 30 suspects were apprehended and are currently detained at Kira Division Police on allegations of unlawful possession of suspected narcotic substances, specifically marijuana.

Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Area, Luke Owoyesigyire says in these security operations, CCTV camera operators successfully identified two individuals assaulting members of the public. One of the suspects, Mutebi Shafic, was arrested in Namugongo Agenda after hitting a person with a stone. This suspect was apprehended with the stone he used in the assault.

Owoyesigyire says the victim who is yet to be identified was taken to a nearby hospital for first aid. He says security operations in Kira Municipality are ongoing, with an aim of eradicating crime in the area.
