Police at Mbarara Central Police Station have arrested 41 people who were found with marijuna (drugs) and breaking implements in areas of Kakoba roundabout, Lubiri and London Arcade corridors.

Among the 41 suspects, 11 are male juveniles, 5 are female adults and 25 are male adults and these were arrested during an intelligence led operation yesterday, the operation that followed several complaints from the public of shop breakings, theft.

In a statement released by the Rwizi Region Police Spokesperson, Samson Kasasira, the case files of the suspects are being processed to have them appear in court. Kasasira says operations to crackdown criminal elements have been intensified in Rwizi Region ahead of this festive season where crime tends to increase.
