Police in Bushenyi District are investigating circumstances under which a 45 year old man was beaten to death by mob.

The deceased has been identified as Musazi Jamil, a resident of Nyonyo cell in katerera Sub County, Rubirizi district. Musazi was killed by mob in St. Kagwa trading Centre who suspected he was a thief.

Bushenyi Greater Police Spokesperson, Senior Superintendent of Police, Martial Tumusiime has confirmed the incident that happened in the night of February, 6th, 2024. Tumusiime says the deceased was caught trying to break a shop with an intention to stealing and he was beaten to death by a mob in this trading centre of St. Kagwa.

Tumusiime however cautioned the public from taking laws into their hands in murdering suspects noting that this disrupts security investigations.
