Police in Buhweju District are searching for an unidentified motorcyclist who allegedly knocked dead a juvenile pedestrian.

According to the Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson, Martial Tumusiime, the accident occurred in Kikyuzi Village along the Nsiika-Kajani road yesterday evening. The deceased, identified as Tweshegyereze Prossy,7, was the daughter of Kabundama Lawrence who is a resident of Katobera Cell in Kikyuzi Ward, Nsiika Town Council, Buhweju District.

It is alleged that the rider of the unidentified motorcycle was traveling from the direction of Kajani towards Nsiika. Upon reaching Kikyuzi Village, he lost control of the motorcycle and knocked Prossy who was walking on the edge of the road and died on spot.

Tumusiime stated that the body has been recovered and taken to Nsiika Health Centre IV, where it will undergo a post-mortem examination. Efforts to locate the motorcyclist are currently ongoing.
