Police in Kanungu investigate suspected murder case of 77 year old woman

Police in Kanungu District are investigating the death of 77-year-old Teopista Tibabuza, a resident of Group Farm Cell in Kihihi Sub-County, whose body was found lying on her bed in her house.

According to sources, Pastor Tumugabe Gerald who was doing his pastoral visit to Christians in Group Farm Cell in Kihihi Sub-County on November 20, 2023 reached at Teopista's home with an intension of praying for her but he discovered her lifeless body on her bed.

According to ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Police were informed, visited the scene and found the body had a swollen eye, bruises and fresh scratch marks indicating strangulation on the neck.

Maate says investigations are ongoing, and a case has been registered at Kihihi Police Station under reference number CRB 403/2023.
