At least five people have died of Anthrax disease in Kazo District. This has been revealed by the District Deputy Resident District Commissioner Kazo, Tumukurate Silvester who was speaking to KC News reporter today.

RDC Tumukurate says in Sub Counties of Nkungu, Rwemikoma, Kyampangara among others have registered many cases of anthrax. He says the deceased people consumed the meat of cows that died without exhibiting any signs of illness.

This development comes as the district is battling with Foot and Mouth Disease that has resulted into quarantine aimed at curbing the spread of this disease.

RDC Tumukurate cautioned people against buying meat of dead animals noting that such animals are always contaminated.
