Fight Corruption-Bishop Sheldon Mwesigwa decries Corruption

The Bishop of Ankole Diocese Rt. Rev. Sheldon Mwesigwa has challenged Ugandans to work together in the fight against corruption.

Bishop Mwesigwa's call follows corruption allegations against the 11th Parliament led by Speaker Anita Among, allegations that indicated how this parliament has misused tax payers money including the money that was allegedly spent on Parliamentary Commissioners as service awards amounting to Shs. 400M each Commissioner.

In his Easter's message to Christians at St. James Cathedral Ruharo in Mbarara, Bishop Mwesigwa noted that corruption scandals are not only in government but also in some religious leaders are also corrupt by involving themselves in receiving money meant to work on church activities and fail to work on those activities.

The Bishop also proclaimed the need to fight against domestic violence among married people since such do not pave a path for peace and unity.

Also, the Mbarara Ciity North Legislator, Dr. Robert Mwesigwa Rukaari who attended Easter Sunday service at St.James' cathedral, Ruharo reiterated Bishop Mwesigwa's call on corruption and thus reminded Ugandans to own the battle against corruption as this vice destabilizes development.
