Burora further remanded over hate speech
Former Rubaga
Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner, Herbert Anderson has been further
remanded to Luzira prison over hate speech. Burora appeared before magistrate
Ronald Kayizi at Buganda Road Court who remanded him to Luzira Prison until
July 12, 2024.
Burora was suspended from his position as Deputy Resident City Commissioner for Rubaga Division on March 14, 2024 after he was seen using his X (Formerly Twitter) accusing Speaker of Parliament Anita Among of being corrupt and shielding corruption in the 11th Parliament.
Furthermore, Burora was seen accusing
the Inspector General of Government, Betty Kamya of not doing enough to fight
corruption hence called for her resignation.
Burora had denied
the charges and will now return to court on July 12th when court will be
deciding whether to dismiss or maintain the charges of hate speech and
spreading malicious information against Burora.
