ICT Minister urges people to support government programs
Minister of Information,Communications Technology and National Guidance, Dr Chris Baryomunsi has challenged people to embrace and support government programs aimed at fighting against poverty.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a function of thanksgiving for Kazo District LCV Chairman, Rev Samuel Mugisha Katugunda who was thanking God for enabling his son Prof Akandwanaho Steven to attain the level of education of professor. The thanks giving function was held at St. Johns Church Of Uganda, Kazo- town council in Kazo- district yesterday.
Minister Dr Chris Baryomunsi challenged people to take advantage of the available government programs to develop themselves and have livelihoods. He noted that the government has tried to eradicate poverty among citizens by introducing programs like Emyooga funds, Parish Development Model Funds among others with an aim of eradicating pverty among citizens hence asked people to support such programs, use them well in developing themselves.
During the function, over Shs. 20 M was collected as a contribution towards the completion of the compassion hall in Kazo. The church service was led by the Kazo Archdeacon Rev Canon Kwesinga Emmanuel Katamunanwire who hailed people to always thank God for the gift of life.
