Police in Ibanda district fired live bullets to disperse rowdy residents of Kafunjo cell in Bufunda division, Ibanda municipality who tried to destroy Depths Ministries Church belonging to Pastor Daniel Bukenya. This followed the death of a woman identified as Scovia Akankunda who committed suicide by taking poison and her body was found inside the church. The deceased accused pastor Bukenya of failure to repay her the money amounting to Shs. 16 M she allegedly lent him.

AResidents after discovering the deceased body inside this church, they started to protest, tried to destroy this church blaming Pastor Bukenya of having love affairs with married women in disguise of praying for them. Police were informed, fired live bullets to disperse these residents.

By press time, Police had already been taken the body to Ruhoko Health Center IV for postmortem investigations and hunting of Pastor Bukenya have commenced.
