Chairperson, Vincent Alpha Opio is detained at the
Kikuube Central Police Station on allegations of extorting
1.5 million shillings from a job applicant.
Opio was
arrested on July 9th at Kikuube
District Headquarters and according to sources, he extorted 1.5
million shillings from Derick Musabiire, an applicant for a job that
was advertised in the district.
Opio is said to have demanded 1.5M from Musabiire to secure the
job for him but failed to do so as agreed which prompted Musabiire to
report the case to the Kikuube Central Police Station.
Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, Julius Hakiza has
confirmed the arrest of Opio noting that after investigations, he will
be taken to court to answer charges of corruption.
