In a tragic incident, a 20-year-old man, Francis Rumanzi, has been arrested by police in Kitagwenda district over the alleged murder of his wife, Jascinta Mwebaze, 20. The incident occurred at Kihorogo village in Kabale ward, Kitagwenda Town Council.

According to eyewitnesses, Rumanzi allegedly murdered his wife in a fit of rage related to domestic violence and later, he handed himself over to the authorities. Preliminary findings indicate that Francis became agitated and accused his wife of infidelity before the alleged murder.

Eyewitnesses have expressed frustration with the police response time following the notification of the incident. In a related development, family members of the deceased have resorted to taking revenge by cutting down Rumanzi's banana plantations.

Nsamba Mukiza Ronald, the Officer in Charge (OC) of Kitagwenda Police Station, has confirmed the incident and assured the public of a thorough investigation.

The OC has appealed to residents to remain calm and has warned that both the suspect and those responsible for vandalizing Rumanzi's property will be held accountable.
