Police in Rubirizi District have arrested a man on allegations of defiling a 13-year-old juvenile.

The incident happened in Nyamweru Village, Katunguru Sub-County in Rubirizi District and the suspect has been identified as Moses Mugarura who is said to have defiled a Congolese aged 13 who is a P.3pupil at Kishenyi Primary School in Rubirizi District.

The Greater Bushenyi Regional Police Spokesperson Martial Tumusiime says the suspect, Mugarura had threatened to kill the victim if she informed anyone about it. It’s alleged that the father of the victim sent her to buy sugar from Kishenyi Trading Center and while she was on her way back home, she met the suspect who defiled her.

Irene Nuwagaba, 53, the head teacher of Kishenyi primary school who reported the case to Kishenyi Police and said she noticed that the girl was having difficulties in walking. Police have commenced with investigations.
