Residents of Nkungu Central cell, Nkungu Parish in Nkungu Sub County, Kazo District were shocked after a man murdered a 5-year-old boy. This incident happened in the afternoon of July 8th and the deceased has been identified as Matsiko Abel, a son to Kabagambe Guma who is a resident of the same area.

Police investigations indicate that Jameson Bate, 36, murdered his nephew (Matsiko) using a panga to cut his throat later he set a blaze on household items like Mattresses.

According to residents of this village, Bate first injured his brother, Kabagambe before proceeding with a panga to cut and kill Matsiko.

According to Geofrey Mushabe, the area chairperson has condemned the incident clarifying that Bate has always known for being a drunkard and that he murdered the child while he was drunk. Angry residents wanted to kill Bate however he was rescued by Police Officers from Nkungu Police Post.

By press time, Officers from Nkungu Police Post were waiting for Police Officers from Kazo Central Police Station to retrieve the Body for post-mortem process and arrest the suspect who will be charged with murder.
