Buhweju man murders mother
Police in Buhweju
are investigating circumstances under which a 30-year-old man hacked to death
his 58-year-old mother over family wrangles.
The suspect has
been identified as James Nsingwire who allegedly used a hoe to hack his mother
Peradasi Mbabazi, all residents of Nyampiikye Village in Kashenshero Sub
County, Mitooma District.
According to
Martial Tumusiime, the suspect is well known of using drugs and alcohol.
Tumusiime told journalists that on July 5th, the suspect became violent,
destroyed household properties and ran after his brother Amon Tumwesigye who
escaped unhurt and later attacked his mother in her bedroom, hacked her to
death with a hoe.
Police say that the
suspect also tried to attack people who were responding to an alarm, people
overpowered him, beat him and his legs were seriously injured. He was rescued
by police who took him to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital in critical
condition.
