Police in Mbarara District are investigating circumstances surrounding the murder of a 36-year-old man. According to the deceased's father, Sabasitiyano Bijirwa Ruhanga, who serves as the Councilor representing disabled persons at the district, he received a phone call from his brother yesterday informing him of his son's murder and he immediately notified the police.

Upon examining the body, Sabasitiyano revealed that his son had sustained severe head injuries which are believed to have caused his death. The deceased has been identified as Banabas Nayebare, a resident of Nombe II Cell in Kashare Sub County.

ASP Amos Betungura, Officer in Charge of Rubindi Police Station who led the team that visited the crime scene, confirmed the incident. He urged residents to cooperate with the police to help apprehend the culprits.

Godwin Mugisha, the Chairperson of LC II for Kashare Sub County, condemned the act and advised residents to remain vigilant and to travel in pairs, especially at night.
