Police in Kanyanya are holding a teacher at Hillside College Mityana on allegations of attempting to defile a 15-year-old girl, a student at the same school.

The suspect Kato John Ssenfuma, 40, who is residing in Mukono District is said to have attempted to defile a 15 year old student of the same school. Police records indicate that Senfuma's arrest followed a complaint by Sheilah, 26, a resident of Kyebando Erisa Zone in Kawempe Division, Kampala District, who is the guardian of the victim.

Sheilah reported that the family became aware of Ssenfuma's communication with the juvenile through WhatsApp, prompting his invitation to their premises. On January 13, 2024, Ssemfuma traveled to the designated venue and was subsequently apprehended upon arrival.

Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Area, Luke Owoyesigyire has confirmed the incident noting that investigations have commenced.
