The National Unity Platform party (NUP) leaders have
cancelled their Mobilization Tours in Western Uganda after disruptions
from the government who according to NUP leaders, kept on halting the
party’s movements.
NUP party resumed their nationwide political
mobilisation tours in Western region with an aim of sharing with their
supporters on how the party is prepared for the next general elections that
will be held in 2026.
During a press conference today, the NUP President Robert
Kyagulanyi Sentamu said they decided to cancel their planned activities
in Isingiro District, citing alleged denial of access to venues noting
that leaders in that district told them that NRM leaders had organised a
function in Isingiro Town where NUP was to hold it's activities.
Kyagulanyi stated that, instead of the planned
activities, they will only participate in an afternoon talk show on a local
radio station in Isingiro District.
