Nyabushozi MP warns individuals involved in defilement
In Kiruhura District, Nyabushozi County MP, Hon. Wilson Kajwengye has issued a stern warning to the general public regarding individuals involved in defilement and those who protect or conceal these offenders. He emphasized that the government of Uganda must impose harsh penalties on such perpetrators.
Kajwengye delivered this warning while attending the speech day at Rwemikunyu Primary School in Rwabarata Parish, Sanga Sub-County in Nyabushozi County.
With visible anger, he condemned all forms of sexual abuse criticizing the disturbing reality of a 25-year-old man engaging in sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl. He highlighted the shamefulness of this situation, especially when older women seem indifferent.
His comments were prompted by concerns raised by the school’s head teacher, Mugizi Tinka Nicholus who informed parents that older men are jeopardizing the futures of young girls by luring and defiling them. Tinka urged parents, local council leaders and law enforcement officials to report any suspects to his office, assuring them that he would personally address these issues before the law.
Additionally, Tinka appealed for government resources to support parents in constructing two new classroom blocks equipped with desks, to create a conducive learning environment for the steadily increasing number of pupils.
Kajwengye encouraged teachers to focus on teaching basic gardening skills so that children can work with their parents to grow food and generate additional income, thereby reducing idleness and the search for employment.
