Rubanda Police recover body of boda boda rider
Police in Rubanda
District have recovered the lifeless body of
a boda boda rider that was dumped in Echuya forest
reserve in Muko sub-county. The deceased Twebaza Martin
aka Kagame, was a Boda Boda rider and
resident of Iterero village
in Kachenche parish, Nyakishenyi sub
county in Rukungiri district.
The deceased was last seen on
July 30th after he
was approached to by two passengers who hired him to transport
from Iterero Trading Centre to Kisoro town in Kisoro district. The owner
of the motorcycle that was being driven
by Twebaze, Arineitwe Matumbika waited
for Twebaze to return but all in vain.
Matumbika informed Police
of Rukungiri who tracked and arrested two people (names withheld),
they were arrested from Rubuguri Town Council in
Kisoro district after they were found with the same motorcycle, a Bajaj
Boxer with the registration number UGE 705U that was being driven by the
late.
Police investigated and interrogated the arrested people who
told police that they killed Twebaze with an axe, dumped his
body in Echuya forest reserve in Rubanda, and went with the
motorcycle. Post-mortem was made on the body before giving it to relatives for
burial arragements as investigations continue.
