Former Mbarara Chairperson wants salaries of MPs, District Chairpersons deducted
The government has been requested to start planning for reduction of salaries of Members of Parliamentary, District and City chairpersons to generate reasonable pay to local council one chairpersons for the immense work they do.
Former Mbarara LCV Chairperson, Capt JB Tumusiime Bamuturaki clarified that local council one chairpersons and committee members perform big roles in managing and maintaining security of people and their property in support with Uganda Police Force and the Shs. 10,000 salary paid to them a month per month does not match with their services they deliver to people. Capt JB Timusiime made the remarks while in political mobilization program with local council one chairpersons of Bubaare sub county under their umbrella organisation, Bubaare Grassroot Leaders Association in Kobwoba village Kashaka Bubaare sub county Kashari south Mbarara district.
He encouraged local council leaders to promote regular joint community meetings that will help to identify challenges of insecurity within their areas.
Capt JB Timusiime Bamuturaki Omudumizi who is building systematic foundation to stand for parliamentary seat of Kashari south Mbarara district, requested the public to be vigilant in selecting and voting for political leaders with capacity to lobby for quality services of development.
Bahumbiza Frederick the chairperson LC 1 Rugarama 1 LC 1 applauded former Mbarara district chairperson Capt JB Timusiime Bamuturaki Omudumizi for being a visionary political leader with capacity to serve the people. Bahumbizai said Bubaare Grassroot Leaders Association has supported members in generating resources through contributions to pay school fees for their children and mobilizing the married couples to avoid gender based violance that hinder social economic development.
